Panel: Jan Davis, Marge King, and Andrea C. Carrero
This conference session will feature the experiences of three AIIP members who are currently members in Mastermind groups. They'll discuss their experiences with Mastermind and how each has benefited from working in one of these groups. Topics of discussion will include:
- What is Mastermind and what are its benefits?
- What do you do in a Mastermind meeting?
- How does Mastermind help with marketing an info business?
- What happens if someone isn't working out as a member?
- Finding a Mastermind group in your area
About Andrea Carrero
Andrea C. Carrero is a former journalist and public relations coordinator. Carrero is founder and president of Word Technologies Inc. (www.wordtex.com), a full-service business, marketing, and technical communication firm. In her 20-plus-year career as a professional writer, she has worked as a reporter and editor for mass media (daily and weekly newspapers), written for radio, and worked in public relations and publications roles for large nonprofit organizations. Her firm has worked with clients in a wide variety of vertical industries, including business-to-business and business-to-consumer companies with offices and customers worldwide. She recently founded Black Ink Marketing (www.blackinkmarketing.net), a boutique marketing firm. About Jan DavisJan Davis is president of JT Research LLC, located in Portland, Oregon. Since 1997 Jan has provided business appraisers, forensic accountants and attorneys with industry, company and merger and acquisition research. She recently published a book on how professional services firms are using social media. About Marge King Margaret King is president of InfoRich Group, Inc., a management-consulting firm, providing fundraising support in the areas of board development, prospect research, capital campaign, and general fundraising. She has extensive experience in the nonprofit sector and has been part of the executive management team for two internationally recognized nonprofit institutions. In addition to raising millions of dollars for her clients, she has broad experience developing and organizing nonprofit boards and advisory councils. She also speaks and writes about contemporary fundraising and board development issues. A member of the adjunct faculty at Delaware County Community College and Eastern University, she teaches nonprofit management courses at graduate and undergraduate levels and is an instructor for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Greater Philadelphia Chapter. She has served on several nonprofit boards and has evaluated grant proposals for the National Science Foundation. Currently she is president-elect of the Association of Independent Information Professionals. She earned a BS from Cabrini College, a MBA from St. Joseph's University and completed a post-graduate program at Harvard University. She is a member of numerous organizations including Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Association of Independent Information Professionals.
