Discussion List
One of AIIP's most valuable benefits is access to our private
electronic forum via the Internet. Where else can you stay in
daily contact with your colleagues, brainstorm about a difficult
research project, get tips on accounting software, and receive
encouragement and support when you think you're going nuts?
Industry Partner and
Industry Affiliate Program
AIIP has a number of industry partners and industry affiliates
that offer significant discounts on their products and services
to AIIP members. At the request of the industry affiliate, some
discounts are only available to Full AIIP members. Retired members
are not eligible for industry affiliate discounts.
AIIP Referral Program
Full members who have been members for 2 years are eligible to
participate in the AIIP
Referral Program which tries to match the information needs
of callers to the skills of up to three participating members.

AIIP Connections
Every member receives the Association's quarterly newsletter,
Connections. The newsletter is filled with association
and industry news, practical advice and useful tips, an events
calendar, interesting features and articles. Members can highlight
their recent professional accomplishments and take advantage of
the opportunity to write for the newsletter. Download

AIIP Membership
Directory
This annual publication lists members' names, addresses, areas
of expertise and services offered. Every AIIP member and member
of the AIIP Industry Partner Program receives a copy of the directory
in PDF format. This valuable tool is used for locating potential
subcontractors and clients. For wider exposure, members can elect
to make this information available in the directory database on
the AIIP web site.
Annual Conference
Discounted registration fees for members to the Annual
Conference make attending this tremendous networking and educational
event more affordable.
Mentoring Program
The AIIP Volunteer Mentoring
Program matches experienced members with members who would
like some advice and support in growing their businesses. Mentors
are volunteer Full members who generously offer a limited amount
of consulting on starting and running a business.
Sample Subcontracting
Agreement
The Association's attorney has drawn up a sample agreement AIIP
members may use when establishing a subcontracting agreement with
another member. There is no charge for this agreement, but it
is available only to AIIP members.
Myra T. Grenier Annual
Award
This award offers a $600 stipend to enable a new or aspiring
independent information professional to attend the AIIP Annual
Conference. Preference will be given to new Full Members with no
outside travel or training funds available and who have not
previously attended an AIIP Annual Conference. The Award is made
possible by the joint efforts of AIIP and SCOUG, the Southern
California Online Users Group.

Gale Group Writer's
Award
The Gale Group sponsors a writing contest for AIIP. A $350 travel
award for the Annual Conference is given to the writer of the
best article published in Connections each year.
AIIP Speaker's Bureau
The AIIP Speakers Bureau is a benefit
available to Full members. AIIP will provide the names of members
to companies, organizations, associations and others who are in
need of speakers who are knowledgeable about the information industry.
This is an excellent means of gaining exposure and thus growing
your business.
