Association of Independent Information Professionals Selects askSam and eGems for AIIP Technology Award

(Baton Rouge, LA) -- The Association of Independent Information Professionals (AIIP) is pleased to announce that askSam Systems and eGems (Gemteq Software, Inc.) were awarded the third annual AIIP Technology Award at the recent Internet Librarian 2002 conference in Palm Springs, California. The AIIP Technology Award goes to a company whose product assists independent information professionals with their day-to-day operations in locating, analyzing, and organizing information. A judging committee selected askSam Systems and eGems from a field of five nominees.

The AIIP Awards Committee selected askSam 5 because it is an innovative information management software that can search and report on full-text documents and import a variety of desktop data forms including documents, email, Web pages, and PDF files. askSam 5 saves an information professional time when searching, organizing, sorting, and reporting data.

The Committee selected eGems Collector Pro because of its ability to capture and reuse relevant information, enabling information professionals to conduct and organize electronic research simply and easily. Users can drag-and-drop pieces of electronic research such as text, images, and links, and simultaneously organize the information into personal or digital libraries. It is a desktop companion that works well alongside other applications.

"AIIP is pleased to be able to recognize these two innovative companies for their creative products. Our members are always on the cutting edge of information technology. Software products such as eGems Collector Pro and askSam 5 help us stay on that cutting edge," said AIIP president, Pam Wegmann.
