LinkedIn has become a premier tool for professional networking and B2B connections, and the site is continually adding new profile features. A LinkedIn profile can showcase your skills and increase your visibility to potential clients and your information colleagues. In this hands-on session, you'll get tips for optimizing your LinkedIn profile and activities, and have the opportunity to implement those tips in your LinkedIn account during the workshop. Bring your laptop, and be prepared to get some work done! If you attended the “Down and Dirty with LinkedIn” workshop in 2011, this session covers the latest features to make your profile shine!

Target audience:

  • Beginner: Those new to LinkedIn, without a lot of connections or content on their LinkedIn profile
  • Intermediate: Those who have been on LinkedIn for a while but need a LinkedIn "makeover".

All participants will need to register for a free LinkedIn account prior to the workshop. The workshop is intended to be "hands-on", and participants are asked to bring a laptop so they can practice what they are taught.

Attendees will:

  • Learn many tips for improving their LinkedIn profile and performance, including making their profile more "findable."
  • Have hands-on time in the workshop to put those tips into practice on their own profile.
  • Walk away with a significantly improved and updated LinkedIn profile that showcases their expertise, enabling more profitable connections.

As a result of attending Scott's courses I'd say my knowledge of social tools went from a 7.5 to a 10. I consider LinkedIn one of the most useful ways for me to obtain business, so improving my profile is an investment worth making.
From SocialU pre-conference workshop at AIIP 2010:
I really enjoyed your course and put several things into action right away. A few plans to do more later, and lots to think about. Thanks for a well-prepared seminar.
